Richard A. Jones

RICHARD A. JONES, PRINCIPAL

Richard A. Jones is a co-founder of Community Capital Partners and has primary responsibility for credit quality and underwriting standard maintenance within the organization.  He also is responsible for developing capital procurement business for the firm.

Prior to co-founding Community Capital Partners, Mr. Jones was a Vice President and Senior Relationship Manager for Wachovia’s Community Development Finance Group in PA and DE.  He had been in the banking industry for thirty+ years, with Wachovia the last six prior to joining Community Capital Partners.  He originated and managed loans and other financial products, working with for-profit affordable housing developers, nonprofit and community development organizations and housing authorities in economically distressed areas in PA and DE.  Product areas covered included Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Historic Tax Credits, New Markets Tax Credits, commercial mortgage loans, construction loans, permanent loan placement, working capital lines of credit, term loans, taxable and tax exempt bonds and gap financing needed for state and federal related funding sources.  He worked previously with Wachovia’s commercial banking group in Northeastern PA.  Mr. Jones has held various management lending positions in community based and regional banks; most recently with Mellon’s Middle Market Banking Group in Northeast PA before joining Wachovia.

Mr. Jones has a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from the Pennsylvania State University and completed his Master of Business Administration degree at Indiana University of PA, and is also a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University.  His prior work experience includes serving in the United States Naval Reserve and as President of The Falls Community Association, Inc., a private 245-unit townhouse community, for twelve years.  He is a member of operating committees for PA’s RURAL LISC program and Pennsylvania Community Bank through the Commonwealth of PA’s Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED).  He also serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Alliance for Building Communities; a Lehigh Valley based non-profit affordable housing developer.
